BIKE MECHANIC EXPANDS HIS TOOLKIT

Like many other businesses, Holms Cykler finds it can be difficult to navigate the skills development programmes on offer. Therefore, it made an impression when two consultants from Business Center Bornholm visited the shop in person to present Restart Business on the High Street (GEIG). Through its participation in the project, Holms Cykler has focused in particular on its new business segment, namely online bicycle hire.
Owner Patrick Holm is a trained bicycle mechanic and admits that some of the things he initiates in his shop are outside his own field of expertise, such as getting the shop's online presence to work effectively. Therefore, peer training and sparring with experts in website optimisation, SEO and advertising have been invaluable, helping to create a far better online booking experience for those who want to order bikes from home. For customers in the physical shop, a booking kiosk has also been set up for customers to use if the staff are busy. All in all, Patrick Holm has expanded his toolkit with a wealth of knowledge about online presence, and the result is tangible, as there is high demand for the shop's bicycle rental and customers are satisfied with the overall experience.
