Bornholm Tourism invites local businesses to work on strengthening year-round tourism on the island

Press release, 12 February 2025.

How your business can cut its electricity bill

Bornholm is working purposefully towards becoming a year-round, sustainable and preferred destination of high quality with international impact. In the project "Bornholm Tourism – all year round and across the entire island", the purpose is to spread tourism across the entire island and extend the season to also include the spring, autumn and winter months.

The project focuses partly on networking and partly on business development. Work is being carried out with actors within the 'Outdoor' position of strength as well as in the geographical areas of Aakirkeby with the central island, Hasle and Nexø. Through workshops, networking meetings and tailored expert pathways, businesses are offered personal development sparring to achieve their own goals and thereby also the goals of the development plan.

"As a new entrepreneur, I am involved in the Bornholm Tourism project. I have benefited from all sorts of cool workshops covering topics ranging from value propositions to the customer journey. It is a gift to network and brainstorm with others. But most of all, it is the 1:1 sparring with the business consultant from Business Center Bornholm that brings me great value. Here I get sparring, knowledge and support, says Tanja Holmstrøm Rasmussen from Holmstrøm ARTS about her participation in the project.

Benefits of participating in the project:

  • Tailored development programme: Each business receives a personally structured programme with one-to-one development mentoring throughout the project period.
  • Expert assistance: Through specialised programmes, participants receive concrete help to strengthen selected parts of their business.
  • Workshops and tools: Relevant and inspiring workshops provide new tools for the company's development, which can lead to longer seasons, increased growth and stronger competitiveness.

"We want to engage small and medium-sized enterprises that have the island's tourists as customers to participate in the project. It is free to participate, but it requires commitment and approximately 50 hours annually. The project runs until July 2026," says Christa Lodahl, Head of Business Development at Business Center Bornholm.
