CRT analysis concludes:
The newcomer service at Business Center Bornholm has a major impact on inward migration to Bornholm and contributes valuable resources

CRT has prepared a newcomer analysis to shed light on a quantified effect of Tilflytterservice. The analysis compares the newcomer families who have been in contact with Tilflytterservice at Business Center Bornholm with other families moving to Bornholm.
The analysis provides good examples of the types of families and occupational groups that Tilflytterservice particularly helps to Bornholm.

- More couples with children
- More newly arrived 20 to 39-year-olds
- More 40-69 year olds
- More people with higher education
- More within healthcare and education
- More self-employed people and employees
- Fewer outside the workforce
CRT concludes, amongst other things, that the work of Tilflytterservice ensures:
- Improved demographic distribution
- Better impact regarding the labour market
- Important recruitment for public service
- Economically stronger newcomers
- Better job creation
As the analysis shows, Tilflytterservice is in contact with newcomer families who possess characteristics that are positive for the Bornholm community.
”Families with children are generally difficult to move, as a lot of things have to fall into place before the family relocates to a new part of the country. It is a major strength that Tilflytterservice has a good grip on precisely that group. They usually become a permanent part of our community, says Anne Thomas, Director of CRT.
No fewer than 272 families with children have moved to Bornholm since 2017 following guidance from Tilflytterservice. Since Tilflytterservice was established in 2016, they have guided more than 2,200 people who subsequently chose to move to Bornholm.
The CRT analysis establishes that Tilflytterservice has a good grip on some of the occupational groups where there is a great shortage of labour in the Bornholm labour market. This includes qualified labour within healthcare and education.
”Relocation Service is an asset for attracting labour and newcomers to Bornholm. We are pleased that we now have an independent report to analyse the results that our Relocation Service has achieved. The report supports the fact that the Relocation Service is an important asset for the Bornholm community, for the Municipality of Bornholm and for Bornholm businesses. This is also underlined by the strong support among the Bornholm business community to financially back the function. Therefore, it is important that the scheme also takes on a more permanent character with multi-year funding allocations from the Municipality of Bornholm. This will support longer-term planning and development, and not least increased
security for the two capable employees in the function,” says the chairman of the steering committee Morten Holten, director of Bornholms Brandforsikring.
Business Center Bornholm wishes to continue working on attracting qualified labour through the Newcomer Service Scheme.
