Dear reader
The Business Bornholm magazine, which normally comes out in June, is not out in its usual form. This is because Business Center Bornholm and Bornholms Tidende are from now on joining forces in one shared publication instead of two separate magazines. In future, therefore, you will find the business articles you are used to from the Business Bornholm magazine gathered in the business magazine, you are holding in your hand right now.
The ambition is, of course, the same as it has always been: to tell the stories of the companies, the people, the ideas and the development that help to create growth and jobs on Bornholm.

We live in an age where changes are happening faster than ever before. New technologies, changing markets and shifting customer needs mean that it is no longer sufficient to do things as you have always done. The most successful businesses are those that continually develop, work strategically and make conscious choices.
In this edition, we focus on leadership and professionalisation. Two concepts that can seem a bit heavy, but which in reality are about something quite fundamental: building a business that is equipped for the future.
We live in an age where changes are happening faster than ever before. New technologies, changing markets and shifting customer needs mean that it is no longer sufficient to do things as you have always done. The most successful businesses are those that continually develop, work strategically and make conscious choices.
Fortunately, the business community on Bornholm has shown time and time again that it is innovative, dynamic and courageous. Here on the island, we are not afraid to try out new ideas, challenge conventional thinking and develop our businesses. That is a strength we must hold on to.
Most of us probably still have the coronavirus pandemic fresh in our memory. In a short space of time, businesses were forced to think innovatively, adapt and find new ways of doing business. Some struggled through the crisis, while others managed to use the situation as a springboard to develop further. Common to those who came through the crisis well was the ability to act, adapt and see opportunities in a changing reality.
It is a lesson worth bearing in mind. Development and change should not only take place when a crisis strikes. They should be a natural part of everyday life – even when business is going well.
But what does it actually mean to professionalise your business? We take a closer look at that question in this edition through articles and examples from companies that are actively working with management, strategy and development to be in a stronger position both today and in the future.
Welcome to our new way of bringing you business news. We look forward to continuing to share stories, inspiration and insights from the Bornholm business community with you.
Happy reading.
