Attractive fixed-rate loans

Loan terms and conditions for Bornholms Erhvervsfond

Interest rate
The interest rate on loans is currently 3.50 % per annum. Interest is calculated and paid on 30 June and 31 December each year. Loans for change of ownership and agricultural purposes are granted at a higher interest rate.

Costs
When a loan is disbursed, an arrangement fee of 0.5% of the principal is charged. The costs of establishing security are borne by the borrower.

Liquidation
The loan is amortised as a serial loan with half-yearly instalments on 30 June and 31 December, and payment must be made via Betalingsservice.

The loans are normally exempt from principal repayments for the first two instalments. The term is normally 10 years, but is adjusted to the technical and economic life of the financed assets. In special cases, a term of up to 15 years may be agreed.

Safety
Security must be provided for the loan. In most cases, a requirement will be set for collateral in the fixed assets for which the loan is granted, e.g., a charge over buildings and/or plant and machinery and fixtures and fittings.

As a starting point, a guarantee is also required from the ultimate company owners.

Other securities may also be considered if appropriate.

Borrowing limits
There is no fixed loan limit, as the Business Fund’s board of directors carries out a case-by-case assessment of each application. However, the Business Fund may grant loans up to a maximum of 50% of the total investment.

The commercial foundation's activities are regulated by the EU

The loan will be granted in accordance with the EU's de minimis regulation, which means that an enterprise may not receive total aid exceeding EUR 300,000 within a period of 3 years.

Reference is made to Commission Regulation (EU) No 2023/2831 of 13 December 2023 on the application of Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union to de minimis aid. In accordance with the applicable State aid rules, loans to specific sectors/projects will have to be granted at an interest rate equivalent to the EU reference rate plus a margin depending on the applicant's rating, etc. (OJ C 14/6 Communication from the Commission on the revision of the method for setting the reference and discount rates, (2008/C 14/02)).
