Bornholm is facing a major transition with fewer wastewater treatment plants and new pumping stations. Precisely for this reason, the time is ideal to rethink some of the most energy-intensive processes.
Pumping stations account for a large share of energy consumption in wastewater systems, and Bornholm's specific terrain and infrastructure amplify this challenge. We are therefore investigating new technical, hydraulic and operational concepts that can significantly reduce energy consumption without compromising operational reliability or robustness.
