WEBINAR: Producer responsibility for packaging – what does it mean for your business?

All about producer responsibility
10. Feb

Extended producer responsibility for packaging is now a reality, and from 2025 clear requirements will be introduced for businesses that make packaged products available on the Danish market for the first time. For many businesses, the rules can seem complex and difficult to understand – especially if you are in doubt as to whether you are covered at all.

This webinar provides an educational, clear and practice-oriented overview of producer responsibility for packaging and is aimed at businesses that want to understand the rules and their practical implications.

What is the webinar about?

The webinar covers:

  • The background to producer responsibility and current legislation
  • What is defined as packaging
  • Which businesses are covered – including manufacturers, importers, sellers and distributors
  • What the rules mean for micro-enterprises
  • How you specifically comply with the requirements for registration, reporting and environmental tax
  • Typical pitfalls and real-world examples

The content is based on concrete cases and is explained without legal jargon so that everyone can follow.

Format and yield

The webinar will be held online and will last approx. 60–90 minutes depending on the number of questions:

  • Presentation of approximately 30–40 minutes
  • Subsequent question-and-answer session where participants can get answers to their own questions
  • All participants will be sent the presentation afterwards
  • There will also be the opportunity for free 1:1 follow-up guidance after the webinar

The webinar is hosted by Andreas Diekmann, CCO at Emballage Indberetning ApS and specialist in producer responsibility for packaging, who works daily to help companies understand and comply with the rules in practice.

What do you get out of participating?

After the webinar you will:

  • Check if your business is covered by producer responsibility for packaging
  • Keep track of your duties and deadlines
  • Understand how to get started most easily – or ensure that you are already compliant
  • Feel better equipped to handle producer responsibility without unnecessary complexity

The aim is for you to leave the webinar with clarity, confidence and concrete next steps – regardless of your company's size or industry.

Target audience

The target audience for the webinar is businesses that either produce, import, sell or distribute products with packaging and may therefore be subject to extended producer responsibility. It is aimed in particular at small and medium-sized enterprises – including micro-enterprises – that are in doubt as to whether the rules apply to them and what specifically they need to do to comply with the legislation. The webinar is relevant for businesses within areas such as retail, e-commerce, food and drink, manufacturing and services, which want an educational and practical review of producer responsibility for packaging, registration, reporting and environmental fees – without requiring prior legal or technical knowledge.
