Get off to a flying start with Google Analytics – gain insight into your tourism business's digital performance
24. Feb

How do you know if your website works?

Which channels get you guests – and which ones don't?
And how can data help you make better decisions in your marketing?

This information meeting is aimed at tourism businesses that are beginners or improvers in Google Analytics, and who want a practical and comprehensible introduction to how digital data can be used actively in the business.

Over the course of three hours, you will receive a basic introduction to Google Analytics and an understanding of which key performance indicators are relevant specifically to the tourism industry – including accommodation, experiences, attractions, restaurants, retail and other experience-based businesses.

What is the day about?

We take the reality of small and medium-sized tourism businesses as our starting point and focus on:

  • How to get an overview of the traffic on your website
  • Where your visitors come from (Google, social media, campaigns, etc.)
  • How users navigate around your website
  • How to measure the impact of marketing and social media
  • Which basic data are worth tracking – and which you can safely ignore to begin with

Everything is explained in a language that requires no technical background.

Who should attend?

The information meeting is relevant for:

  • Tourism businesses and operators within the experience economy
  • Companies that have a website and want to understand how it is used
  • You, who work with marketing, communications or operations – or who own the business
  • You, who prefer to make decisions based on data rather than gut feelings

You don't need to have worked with Google Analytics before – curiosity is quite enough.

What do you get out of participating?

After today you will:

  • Have a basic understanding of Google Analytics and its capabilities
  • Know which figures and reports are most important for your type of business
  • Be able to assess whether your marketing and channels are providing value
  • Get inspiration on how data can be used as a practical decision-making tool in everyday life

The information meeting is led by Tim Kjeldsen, local expert in Google Analytics and digital marketing, with extensive experience in making complex data understandable and actionable for businesses.

The goal is for you to go home with clearer overview, greater confidence in the use of data – and the desire to continue working with your digital insight.

Target audience

The target audience for the event is businesses within tourism and the experience economy that want a better understanding of their digital presence. It is particularly aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises such as accommodation providers, attractions, experience providers, restaurants, retail shops and other service businesses with tourists as their primary target group. Participants are typically beginners or intermediates in Google Analytics and have a desire to use data more actively to understand website usage, the impact of marketing and social media, and to make more informed decisions in the daily operations and development of the business.
