For many businesses, 2021 has been something of a rollercoaster. For some, a time of full steam ahead; for others, a time of severe headwind. First due to Corona, and now with an unfortunate war in Europe. Common to us all is a time where conditions change with great speed and we have had to learn to navigate in troubled waters and with a short horizon.

High demand for sparring
At the representative assembly meeting on 6 April 2022, chairperson Karen Bladt was able to report a high demand for sparring and guidance at BCB: both in the form of joint events, participation in projects and as individual sparring sessions. Despite – or perhaps because of – busy and challenging times for Bornholm businesses.
BCB has held 363 individual customer meetings and been in contact with 165 companies, of which 75 per cent have been referred on to more specific advice or sparring with either private consultants, Erhvervshus Hovedstaden, other business promotion actors or knowledge institutions.
The figures show that the new business promotion structure is working and came into its own in 2021. It has become easier locally to get access to national business programmes and specialised help, and many have opened their eyes to what the Bornholm business promotion structure can and must do. Most of the projects that ran under the auspices of BCB in 2021 will continue in 2022 – for the simple reason that they work and are in demand.
