How long can your company function without power, internet, or access to the usual supplies? And what should employees do if their daily routine is suddenly interrupted?
Business Center Bornholm invites you to a morning where you will gain insight into Bornholm’s emergency preparedness and work with a concrete mini-emergency plan for your own company.
Get an overview of Bornholm's emergency preparedness
Klaus Rønne Jensen from Bornholm Emergency Response begins with an up-to-date overview of the island’s preparedness: Where are we today, what plans are being worked on, and what should business owners or managers be aware of?
You will also hear about the work to establish local safety points on Bornholm. These are physical gathering places where citizens can receive information, practical help and support during prolonged crises. The establishment is being developed in collaboration with local civic houses, citizens’ associations and volunteers. Klaus provides an update on the work and talks about the role of the safety points in the island’s overall preparedness.
The presentation focuses on companies’ everyday operations and on how self-preparation can protect employees and customers, ensure the best possible operation, and reduce the need for assistance from emergency services, the police, and other authorities.
From knowledge to action – create your own emergency plan
After the presentation, we continue with a practical 90-minute workshop. Here you will see how a contingency plan can look in a small business, and work on a simple mini plan for your own company.
With concrete examples and common guidance, we tackle issues such as:
- Which features are most important to keep running?
- What do we do if power, internet or important supplies fail?
- Who is responsible for making decisions and initiating actions?
- How do we communicate with employees, customers and partners?
- What should we have ready in advance, and what is our next step?
You go home with a first draft of a contingency plan that you can work on together with your employees.
The workshop is expected to be facilitated by Lasse from the Volunteer Preparedness Plan. The final presenter will be confirmed.

10.30–12.00 | Workshop: Create a mini emergency plan for your company
What does a contingency plan look like in practice, and what should it contain in a small business?
Using a simple template and concrete examples, we work together to create a mini-plan based on the participants’ own companies. Along the way, we look at, among other things:
- Which functions should we be able to keep running first and foremost?
- What do we do if power, internet or important supplies fail?
- Who is responsible, and how do we contact employees, customers, and partners?
- What can we prepare for now?
You go home with a first draft of a mini emergency plan and an overview of what you need to work on further.
The workshop is expected to be facilitated by Lasse from the Volunteer Preparedness Plan. The final presenter will be confirmed.
